Casa Morais is located in Fornos (5 km north of Coimbra), village where, at the end of the XVI century, a cluster of important inns were settled down. Acquired in 1911 by Morais family, it worked as farm house and owner’s residence until 1994. At the beginning of the XXI century, the House suffered a significant rebuilding work in order to be converted in a comfortable rural tourism lodgment. In 2010 opened the doors to all who wish enjoy a quiet atmosphere in an environment surrounded by an important architectural, cultural and gastronomic heritage (Coimbra and its suburbs, Bairrada region and sea side proximity). Consisting of seven double rooms with private bathroom, the House also has nice common spaces and a pleasant outdoor patio. The building materials, mainly stone and wood from the region and the techniques used in the reconstruction work, give the whole house a cosy atmosphere. Cultural concerns, underlying this project, have allowed a set of initiatives already accomplished and programmed.
