During the high tide, the pools disappear and the ocean present waves, so maragogi the sea is shallow and transparent. The surroundings are most coconut trees along the coast.
In the past the region was disputed between Portuguese and the Dutch during the 17th century. The beach staged war during the years 1832 and 1850. From those years what was left, ships that sunk around the coast, and the same ships could be visited by divers and too many objects collected from the region could be found in local museums.
